The gas giant, Jupiter, is the Father of all Planets and the God of the Skies and Thunder. They call him a failed star, but don't worry dude you're given a capital J default in a text when someone types 'jupiter'.
When you ask an astronomer, "Why you like Astronomy?". He/She will surely mention the day he/she saw Jupiter and Saturn through a telescope.
The gas giants are of course outside the habitable zone ( the orbital region around a star in which an Earth-like planet can possess liquid water on its surface and possibly support life ).
But his moons support liquid water, solidly...... oh..sorry, just liquid water.
Jupiter has a mass of, 1.898 × 10^27 kg,
about 1300 Earths can fit in it. And one day on jupiter is exactly 9 hours and 56 mins of Earth. But one day on Mars is 1 day 37 mins, that's one of the reasons why we choose mars.
Because of his mass and huge gravitational force, Jupiter even does not revolve Sun..... WHAT!
Yeah, Sun and Jupiter shares a common center of mass point, they rotates relative to that point.
That point is called Barycetre.
Jupiter also does a great help for us. Due to its strong gravity, huge comets and asteroids accelerating towards Earth, are all thrown out to the outer space. Like a slingshot...pphhhoooff.
Oh! So that is Jupiter's Care.
